Anxiety & Overthinking
Panic, social anxiety, driving anxiety, constant worry—or a mind that simply will not switch off.
Feel calmer, safer and more in control of your thoughts and reactions.
Calm mind · Real confidence · Unblocked performance
You may look capable and keep getting on with life. But anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt or pressure can quietly take over—especially when something matters most.
I help you uncover what is driving the reaction, change the pattern beneath it and build a calmer, more confident response.

Which one sounds most like you?
The situation may be different, but the experience is often the same: you know what you want to feel or do, yet something inside keeps pulling you back.
Panic, social anxiety, driving anxiety, constant worry—or a mind that simply will not switch off.
Feel calmer, safer and more in control of your thoughts and reactions.
Low confidence, imposter syndrome, fear of judgement—or the feeling that you are never quite good enough.
Build genuine self-belief and show up without constantly second-guessing yourself.
You can do it in training or practice, but pressure takes over during competition, presentations, interviews or tests.
Stay relaxed, focused and able to trust the ability you already have.
A calm first step
Take a few minutes to settle your mind, release some of the pressure and experience John's approach for yourself.
The real issue is often underneath
You can be capable, driven and successful—and still carry an unconscious pattern that keeps your nervous system on alert.
It can show up as overthinking, imposter syndrome, anxiety, emotional overload, avoidance or a performance block. More information rarely fixes it. The work is to understand where it began, update the belief beneath it and reinforce a new response.
The most personal route
A private session shaped around your history, your pattern and the change you want to create—not a generic script applied to everyone.
This may be right for you if:
Clarify the problem, how it affects your life and the outcome you want.
Use RTT and focused therapeutic work to uncover the belief or emotional pattern beneath the symptom.
Update the old meaning and create a personalised transformation recording to reinforce the change.
Use practical actions and repetition to make the new response part of everyday life.
Accessible. Private. Practical.
Structured self-study programmes for people who want a focused first step—or who are not ready for private 1-to-1 work.
A private, practical four-part programme for dads who look capable on the outside but cannot switch off inside.
For entrepreneurs, coaches and high performers who are achieving—but still fear being exposed, judged or found out.
A focused process for people whose fear, panic or anticipation has made driving feel unsafe or overwhelming.
For athletes who have the skill in training but hesitate, tighten up or lose trust in themselves when it matters.
The complete mind-and-body experience
John's wider coached pathway for adults: energy, mindset, movement and practical habits rebuilt together, so the change holds up in real life rather than only in the therapy room.
“You are not broken. You learned a pattern that once tried to protect you. Now it can be updated.”John McKean

About John
I'm John McKean—an RTT Practitioner, Advanced Conversational Hypnotherapist, Performance Mindset Coach and martial arts academy owner based in Paisley, Scotland.
For more than 30 years, I have helped people build confidence, regulate pressure and perform with greater control. My work combines RTT, hypnosis, Ego State Therapy, mindset coaching and performance psychology to address what is driving the pattern—not just the symptom you can see.
The aim is not to turn you into somebody else. It is to help you regain access to the calm, capable and confident person already underneath the protection.
Real people. Real shifts.
“Everything clicked. I was just pure, relaxed playing rugby. I was in my flow state.”
“It solved an issue that had been affecting me for years.”
“She just seems a different person.”
Individual experiences vary. Therapy and coaching support your change; they do not guarantee a specific outcome.
How this works, safely
Hypnotherapy and mindset work can change a great deal. Being straight with you about its limits is part of doing it properly.
This work does not diagnose or treat a medical or mental-health condition and is not a replacement for professional care. It sits alongside that care, never instead of it.
If you are receiving treatment, taking prescribed medication, or have a condition such as epilepsy or psychosis, talk to your doctor before starting - and tell John, so the work can be shaped around it.
The discovery call is where John asks what is happening, what support you already have and whether this is the right fit. If it is not, he will say so and point you somewhere better.
Recordings guide you into deep relaxation. Only listen where you are safe to relax and do not need to concentrate - never while driving, operating machinery or supervising children.
If you are in crisis or worried about your immediate safety, this is not the right first step. Contact your GP, call NHS 111, or call Samaritans free on 116 123 at any hour. In an emergency, call 999.
What you share with John stays between you. Session notes and enquiry details are held only to deliver and follow up your work - see the Privacy Policy for how long, and the Terms for what you are agreeing to. Privacy Policy · Terms
